Beer and champagne are good for you?

New research looks into the benefits of bubbly and beer
Don't hang up your party shoes just yet!
In the past week or so I've read at least two articles suggesting that booze might actually have health benefits. Will wonders never cease? And here I was clutching on to the wagon for dear life…
One report I read in Style magazine says that champagne is the best way to ease your liver out of a January detox as it's packed with a blood vessel-expanding plant extract and actually contains as many antioxidants as a glass of red wine. Even better: bubbly also contains less calories than wine.
Dr Jeremy Spencer from Reading University says, "We've discovered that a couple of glasses of champagne a day has a beneficial effect on the walls of blood vessels, which suggests it has the potential to reduce strokes and heart disease."

The next piece of news that's sure to wet your whistle is… wait for it - beer is actually good for your bones! Moderate consumption of beer is thought to improve bone mineral density and may help to prevent - and even fight - the brittle bone disease osteoposis, according to a study by the University of California.
But be sure go steady and only drink in moderation - as we all know, too much booze is not good for you.
Geez - it sure is a delicate balancing act. It's a good thing I'm a Libran.
Chin chin, sweetie!
