Are you getting your 8 hours?

A recent survey reveals that Britons aren't getting enough sleep
I love my sleep and always aim to get at least the recommended 8 hours a night. If I don't, the older I get, the harder it is to function throughout the day.
And it seems I'm not the only one! A new survey by retailer QVC has revealed that the average British person sleeps for just six hours and seven minutes per
night - and blames their lack of sleep for poor diet, bad moods and lack of concentration at work.
To make sure I get plenty of shut-eye, I have a little check-list of things I like to do if I'm feeling a little stressed or worried I might not sleep well. Try having a warm bath before bed (add a few drops of Organic Blue's new Realaxing Bath and Massage Oil), or a glass of hot milk. I also like to keep a lavender bag under my pillow or burn some lavender essential oil in an oil burner before bed (just make sure you blow out the candle before falling asleep!)
I also have a selection of meditation CDs that are great for helping you unwind and drop off into a deep, dream-filled sleep.
Also, if you want to monitor your sleep habits to see where you can improve, a friend of mine has just told me about a great iPhone App which, when you sleep with it by your head at night, shows you a graph of your sleep patterns. It's called Sleep Cycle and costs just 59p to download on to your iPhone.
And with all these things to try, you ought be worn out in no time!
I'm off for a nap… zzzzzzzzzzzz
