If you've been single too long or need something to change in your romantic life, it's high time you tried a bit of word magic. It's one of the most fun, personal and potent magical spells, and it really works!
You're going to create something called a 'sigil', which is basically a symbolic picture made from words, that you will instill with your magical desire and intent. Your sigil is built from your choice of symbols, which is a language that your subconscious mind can understand. This allows your wish to penetrate the chatter of your conscious mind, meaning it will really hit home penetrating the deeper parts of your psyche.
Many people ask why their magical rituals do not work and the answer is usually simple - you really have to believe! The power of intent is everything and a sigil is an easy way to bypass the skeptical and disbelieving realms of the conscious mind. Don't believe it? Try it yourself...
Step one (words of intent)
Write a sentence that sums up your intent and remember to keep it positive. For example say, "I will meet my soulmate" rather than "I don't want to be alone".
The positive subconscious mind has trouble processing words like 'don't', and 'not', so might interpret it as, "I want to be alone". A mistake I'm sure you don't want to make! Once you have your sentence write it out in capital letters like this:
I WILL MEET MY SOULMATE
Step two (making the symbol)
Take the first letter of each word, removing any repeated letters. So
using the example above it would say:
I W M S
Step three (make the symbol)
Now you can use these letters to make your sigil. Scramble them together in any way you like to form one single symbol. Spend time doodling then stop when you have a symbol you are happy with. It doesn't matter if the letters become unrecognisable as it's only important that you know what the sigil means. But do keep it simple - you will need to remember what it looks like without looking at it.The simpler it is the easier it will be for your mind to process.
Piece the letters together, back-to-front, upside down or however you like. An 'M' can be an upside-down 'W' and letters 'O' and 'I' can be used to form components of other letters.

Step four (mantra)
Before you perform the ritual to catapult your sigil into your subconscious, you need to make a mantra to charge it with magical intent. First take your sentence of intent and write it out phonetically. This does not need to be the same as your first sentence of intent but if it works for you, keep it! Then take out any repeated letters as before and rearrange the letters until you have a mantra you are happy with.
Here's an example: Sentence of intent:
I WILL MEET MY SOULMATE
Written phontetically:
AY WIL MEET MI SOLMATE
Take out repeated letters:
AY WIL MET SO
Rearrange the letters to make a mantra you like and can remember:
"TOSME YAWIL". For the next few days, keep your sigil with you and repeat the mantra whenever you can. When you can hold the image of your sigil in your imagination easily, you're ready for the final stage - the ritual.
Step five (the ritual)
Now you have your sigil memorised, you need to infuse it with your desire. Find a place to perform your ritual where you won't be disturbed. You need to be able to achieve a state of 'gnosis', which is where
all your intent and energy is channelled into one thing - in this case the sigil. You need to achieve this state of intensity so you can penetrate your subconscious.
There are several ways of doing this, you have to find out what works for you. Here are a few suggestions:
Meditation
Draw your sigil on a piece of paper and place it somewhere you can see it. Focus on it and let yourself slip into a meditative state, letting your mind drink in the sigil. Recite your mantra but don't think about the words too much - focus on the sound they make. Let the symbol seep into your subconscious as a picture and nothing more.
Do this for ten minutes or until you're happy you've completed your ritual.
Dancing
This is usually the favoured method in sigil magic as the energy helps make your ritual more powerful. This activity is thought to temporarily displace the conscious mind, opening a door to your higher self. Dance around freely, while saying your mantra out loud.
Draw the symbol on your palm and keep looking at it as you get fired up. When your mind is clear visualise the symbol in your mind's eye. Then let it disperse and stop dancing - done!
Sexual energy
This method may not appeal to everyone but it is also a gateway to the divine. Again, have the sigil visible, and at the point of orgasm, that almighty burst of energy, visualise the symbol in your mind, see it burning big and bright until it disappears. The only problem with this method is that you have to be able to keep your mind clear of everything but the sigil... which is easier for some than others!
Step 6 (destroy and forget)
Once you have used your ritual to firmly plant your sigil in your subconscious, stop what you're doing destroy the sigil immediately - burn it or throw it away then and forget about it. Then slowly get back to reality. Do the washing up, read a book, phone a friend for a chat. But avoid magical practice such as meditation or more spell work for a few hours, because although you're back in the real world, you don't want other subconscious messages to replace the thought of your sigil just yet.
Congratulations, you have completed your magic love plan, now just relax, sit back and wait for your wish to come true. Sigil magic can be used for any purpose, not just for love - so have fun experimenting!
