Chakra colours
Rainbow colours are extremely powerful in colour healing as they make up the seven the colours of the charkas (energy centres in the body). Each chakra has its own colour that can be used to clear blockages in that area. Red is associated with the root chakra at the base of the spine, orange is the sacral chakra in the small of the back, yellow is the solar plexus chakra, green’s for the heart chakra, blue’s the throat chakra, indigo’s the third eye chakra in the middle of the forehead and violet is the crown chakra at the top of the head. Combining these seven colours in one rainbow strip has a potent affect on your mood as well as your psychic abilities
In Tibetan Buddhism when one attains enlightenment, the body turns into
rainbow light, known as The Rainbow Body. The seven ‘bodies’ are as
follows…
Level One – The Physical Body? Red
Level Two – The Etheric Body?- Orange
Level Three – The Astral Body?- Yellow
Level Four – The Mental Body?- Green
Level Five – The Causal Body ?- Blue
Level Six – The Diamond Body?- Indigo
Level Seven – The Celestial Body?- Violet
Think rainbows
If you ever have a bad day or are struggling to lift your mood try meditating on the glorious curve of a rainbow. Visualise a rainbow in your mind, letting the colours engulf your thoughts, body and spirit.
Alternatively, take look at a picture of a rainbow that appeals to you and drink in each colour. Don’t think too hard, just let the colours resonate with you. Notice the effects of the different colours, then maybe concentrate on the one that appeals to you most. Subconsciously you know which colours to choose – and which will be most beneficial.
Colourful myths
In Norse mythology it was believed that the good or virtuous would have access to heaven over a rainbow bridge. Iris, the messenger to the Greek gods, was said to have dressed in rainbow colours and would also use rainbows as a form or transportation.
Rainbows are traditional signs of good luck and a promise of better days, stemming from the Biblical story of Noah and the flood. This is said to be especially true if a rainbow appears without rain. However rainbows are not necessarily all happiness and light. One other superstition to remember is that if you point at a rainbow, you will get a blister on your tongue!

I saw a beautiful full rainbow, without rain yesterday - I did point to it to show my son but as yet no blister on my tongue!
