Robbie William's girlfriend of a year, Ayda Field left him because he has not been paying enough attention to her. It seems that his sabbatical from music making has been boring her as it mainly involved sitting around eating junk food. Rumour has it that she was looking for a more glamorous Hollywood lifestyle.
Obsessed by aliens?
Some people close to him are claiming that one of the reasons they split is that he is becoming more and more obsessed with extra-terrestrial activity.
Only this year he revealed in an interview with Joss Stone that he had seen three UFOs - one when he was young and two in Los Angeles recently - and he told her: "Seriously, I want to go out and investigate these things. I'm stopping being a pop star and being a full-time ufologist."
The first UFO he saw recently was when he was lying on a sun lounger one night outside a LA hotel, and about 300 foot above him there was this square thing, which just passed over his head silently and then shot off.
Robbie's recent sighting
The most recent one he's seen appeared when he was playing a song he wrote about UFOs. He was standing on the balcony and there was this big ball of gold light that turned up - and he thought it was Venus or Mars or something.
"Then the song stops playing and it disappears," he explains. "But then we put the song back on again and the ball turned back up. It happened four times. After that a massive electrical storm started and these two huge balls of light started dancing in the sky. It was like a whole light show for about an hour".
