According the Vatican's semi-official official newspaper L'Osservatore, Britpop band Oasis rank among the Catholic Chruch's favourite musicians.
Brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher's 1995 album What's The Story (Morning Glory) was has been described as 'a masterpiece' by the paper, which adds: "It was never equalled, probably because the Gallaghers were always fighting, but that's how they like to take on their domestic and musical challenges.
"All credit to the group for gathering in the tradition of The Beatles and mixing it with a hint of punk and rock."
But Oasis aren't the only rock group to feature in The Vatican's essential playlist - German-born His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI is apparently quite partial to U2's Achtung Baby!
