For anyone who thought it was for losers, we have news for you: stargazing has now officially become a really cool pastime - now that scientists have discovered a really cool (literally!) star.
A collaboration of astrophysicists from the University of Hertfordshire
and The Chinese Academy of Sciences have identified an ultra-cool companion to the bright red
giant star Eta Cancri, using a UK infrared telescope in Hawaii.
The ultra-cool dwarf's surface temperature is much cooler than an ordinary star - less than 2000
degrees (the Sun's temperature is about 6000 degrees).
Pretty cool, huh?
